Good Deed # 124 of 150 – Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation

150 Good Deeds in 150 Days 2017.

Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, ON

SEPTEMBER 28, 2017

People are often surprised to learn just how essential donors are to supporting health care. The government funds hospital salaries and other operating costs and contributes funding for capital projects. However, substantial funding gaps remain — including funding for equipment. Donors fund 100% of the equipment used to diagnose, treat and care for patients — from replacing the most basic necessities to investing in sophisticated new technologies worth millions of dollars. Glance around any patient room or treatment area and you will see the impact of donations on patient care. Donations also support research programs, education and training for Hamilton Health Sciences staff, and funding for renovations or redevelopment. Donors play a very important role in the healthcare of our community and their contributions impact patients every day.  This good deed was nominated by Kathleen Amadio of our Stoney Creek branch.
