Good Deed # 114 of 150 – The Hot Dog People

150 Good Deeds in 150 Days 2017.

The Hot Dog People, Kitchener, ON

SEPTEMBER 14, 2017

The Hot Dog People.

“We are a group of people with a common interest – helping people who are experiencing homelessness in our city.  We like the idea of volunteering locally, simply because there is so much need here. We provide hot dogs, hot chocolate, clothing and toiletry items, but we also build relationships and provide hope and encouragement to people in our community. We want them to know that we care about them as individuals.”  Their organization doesn’t officially have a name, but they are well known in our community as ‘The Hot Dog People’. Every other Tuesday at 8:00 pm, a few volunteers serve 60-80 people by City Hall. They have been doing this for over two years.  This good deed was nominated by Kim Clarkson of our Kitchener branch.
