Good Deed # 103 of 150 – Josh Needs a Lift

150 Good Deeds in 150 Days 2017.

Josh Needs a Lift, Waterloo, ON

AUGUST 29, 2017

Josh is a 35 years old who has a genetic disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He is doing much better than any doctor has predicted and is living well despite his disease. Josh lives independently and has support staff come to my home to assist him with activities of daily living.  Because of his limited mobility, Josh needs certain equipment to help him transfer from places like his bed to his wheelchair and vice-versa.  Josh has started this GoFundMe campaign because his transfer lift has broken beyond repair. Without a lift, Josh is stuck in bed or in his wheelchair.  Mobility equipment is extremely expensive and government insurance coverage only pays for a wheelchair. Josh has to pay for things like this out of his pocket. He is currently renting a lift which is very expensive and is not a long term solution.   This good deed was nominated by Rob McCauley of our Kitchener branch.

ACTION:

Weber Supply has made a donation to Josh’s campaign for a new lift.
