Helping With Furniture, Ottawa, ON

When we furnish a home for a family, everything we do for them is free. All members of HWF are volunteers – they have no paid staff. But to pick up the furniture, transport it, store it, deliver it, insure against accidents etc. and occasionally buy items we are short of all costs them money. Through activities like garage sales; they rely on sponsors and individuals to make up the rest of their needs. With that money, we can furnish over 100 families per year. All donations offset the costs of storage and transportation costs. This good deed was nominated by Brody Grubb of our Kitchener branch.
