MAY 16, 2017

Sunnydale Community Centre is situated in a culturally diverse community and is home to many new immigrant families, a large number of children and youth, and many living on a limited income.  Despite the many challenges faced by its residents, the Sunnydale community celebrates and builds on its strengths.  Strong partnerships have been formed with individuals, faith groups and community groups, through which many programs and services are provided for residents of all ages.  The Community Centre is a gathering place where neighbours meet, learn, celebrate and serve together offering a variety of programs and services for all ages.  Adult Programs include Healthy Lifestyles (Immigrant Women’s Support Group), Peer Health and Nutrition/Cooking Programs, English Conversation Circles, Sewing Group, and Career/Work Coaching.  Children and Youth Programs include Preschool Program, After School Programs, and a Youth Program.  Services include Community Outreach Program, Food Distribution Program, Community Garden, and Phone/Internet Access.  This good deed was nominated by Amie Weber from our Kitchener branch.
