Good Deed # 142 of 150 – Jim Campbell
150 Good Deeds in 150 Days 2017.
Jim Campbell, Alliston, ON
OCTOBER 25, 2017
Jim Campbell is a family man. In April 2017 he found out he has a brain tumour. An inoperable, grade 4 glioblastoma, terminal brain tumour. Standard treatment is 30 days of chemo and radiation. 5 days a week for 6 weeks. The closest and best brain cancer centre is Sunnybrook, which is an hour and a half away. He goes for monthly check-ups at Sunnybrook and has MRIs every 2 months to monitor the tumour. It’s been a roller coaster of a journey so far, multiple hospital stays because of blood clots and seizures. He can’t work and is not allowed to drive anymore. His wife has left her job to be with him. Between bills, medications, gas, food and parking during hospital stays etc. they shouldn’t have to stress about money. Jim’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses. This good deed was nominated by Kelly Jobson from our Barrie branch. Jim and his family are friends of Kelly’s family.
