Bikes Without Borders, Africa

At Bikes Without Borders, they use bikes and bike-related solutions to empower individuals in marginalized communities through mobility. Around the world, many people are not afforded access to the everyday services that we take for granted. A bike can reduce the time required to get to school, transport a patient to a hospital in time to save a life, or a social worker to a village to educate the community on proper sanitation and hand hygiene. They believe in the humble bicycle as a means to increase access to vital community services and networks that allow individuals to meet their basic needs and build better lives. This good deed was nominated by Mike Gazzola of our Kitchener branch.
