Syrian Refugee

Six years of war has torn Syria apart. Violent reactions to peaceful protests throughout the country descended Syria into chaos in early 2011. Syrian children and families have borne the brunt of the conflict’s disastrous consequences. 5 million Syrians have fled to other countries as refugees. We recently hired a refugee that came to Canada a year ago. They are making a new start here in Kitchener. From war-torn Syria to peace and opportunity, he and his family are learning our language and culture. This good deed was nominated by Kim Clarkson and David Weber from our Kitchener branch.
