Good Deed # 56 of 150 – Love for Lyndsey
150 Good Deeds in 150 Days 2017.
Love For Lyndsey
JUNE 21, 2017
Lyndsey Donaldson has been battling with NF2 since 2010 and it is now time for friends, family and the community to come together to support her and her family.
Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2) is a rare genetic disorder. In the case of Lyndsey, it causes non-cancerous tumour growth on her brain, spine and nervous system. There is no known cure for NF2, only ongoing surgeries to remove the tumours as they appear through ongoing X-Rays and MRIs. This ongoing battle results in a lot of travel to and from the Hospital in London for Lyndsey and her mother Nancy. Lyndsey has had 6 major surgeries to date and is currently at home recovering from her latest surgery. NF2 has taken Lyndsey’s ability to hear, walk unassisted and her long blonde hair. The Families wish is to raise enough money so Lyndsey can afford everything she needs to be able to live a comfortable lifestyle. This includes a walker, wheelchair, ramp, stair lift and a bathroom renovation that will include a walk-in bathtub. This good deed was nominated by David Weber of our Kitchener branch.
